Middle East

From the Suez Canal to Oman, The Red Sea and the Persian Gulf, this can also be the start or ending of cross sea cruises to places like Singapore. This area offers a majestic exploratory adventure of the senses and experience a different type of culture.

Best time to Go:
This region's desert climate leads to scorching summer heat that can top 50 degrees Celsius between June and September with high humidity in coastal areas. From December to March, temperatures hover between 22 and 30 degrees Celsius, making this a natural spot for winter sun cruises. Spring is also a good season to visit as temperatures start to rise, but are still more moderate than the summer peak. Rainfall - what there is of it - occurs mainly during winter months in short, heavy bursts.

Where to Go

TIPS:
* The landscape is dramatic not lush in most parts with ancient Unesco sites that really blow you away.
* Muslim countries, their Fridays are our Sundays, so things are quieter. Remember to dress discreetly out and about, loose fitting long sleeved tops and trousers covering ankles if visiting mosques, and ladies don't forget to cover your hair with a scarf when entering the mosques.

Be aware that currently the Red Sea is a high alert area, and Cruise ships are cancelling travel in the Red Sea, so please double check before travel.
